2nd Grade Reading

Grade 2 Reading teaches students the skills needed to be effective readers and writers, as well as listening and speaking skills. Areas addressed include decoding, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and comprehension skills in reading, writing and composition skills, spelling, grammar and mechanics; and study skills. The goal of the reading program is to instill a love of reading within all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Exploration continues through the use of worksheets, hands-on projects, and art.
